About the internship
Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues worldwide. In Bali the plastic pollution is largely visible in nature. This startup company recycles plastic and makes useful products out of it. Its main product is electricity sockets and light switches and currently are in development of other products.
Its ultimate goal is to use local recycled plastic to locally make no-nonsense products and sell these locally starting with a socket and switch made out of 100% recycled plastic.
The startup has a holistic view of life: everything is connected, or what the Balinese say as Tri Hita Karana: in harmony with spirit, people and nature. With its creation they want to improve the health of our planet, create awareness around the challenges and inspire them to act differently.
The Industrial Designer Internship position expects interns to be curious about new possibilities and open to testing things out. This could be various activities related to plastic research, try out different types of plastic, sampling and product development. Interns shall have knowledge of technical design software, it’s a hands-on job from concept to creation of new products and everything in between. They are seeking interns to contribute to innovation and positive change, have an entrepreneurial mindset, take initiative to identify and action growth opportunities.
