A Perfect Environment and Rewarding Aspects
When I set out to find an internship that would align with my passion for business administration and digital marketing, I discovered Bali Internships through a simple search online. The platform immediately stood out for its structured approach in guiding students toward the right opportunities. From the very beginning, they assisted me in selecting an internship that matched my skills and career aspirations, ultimately leading me to an exciting role at a Mediterranean chain restaurant in Bali.

My internship lasted for six months, from August 5, 2024, to January 17, 2025, and was based in Canggu, Bali. As a Business Administration student in my sixth semester, I was eager to apply my knowledge in a real-world setting. The Mediterranean chain restaurant, which has been operating for nearly a decade, provided the perfect environment for me to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing while immersing myself in the dynamic hospitality industry.

From day one, I was entrusted with managing the restaurant’s digital presence. My primary responsibilities included maintaining social media channels, creating engaging content, responding to customer reviews, and handling online bookings. Additionally, I collaborated with lifestyle leaders and influencers in Kuta and Canggu to enhance the restaurant’s visibility. It was a fast-paced and creative role that allowed me to merge my marketing knowledge with my love for food and hospitality.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my internship was the supportive and welcoming work environment. The restaurant operates as a family business, and from the start, I felt like part of their team. The staff, owners, and fellow colleagues were always ready to assist whenever I needed content for social media, making my job smoother and more enjoyable. The experience was further enriched by the opportunity to visit different restaurant locations, such as Kuta and Seminyak, and even plan future visits to new branches in Sanur and Gili Air for promotional campaigns.

Adapting With Schedule: The Challenge

A typical work week for me was from Tuesday to Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays as my weekends. Initially, adjusting to this schedule was challenging, as it differed from the conventional workweeks of my peers and family. However, I soon adapted by planning my tasks efficiently, ensuring that all content was finalized before the weekend. My communication with the restaurant owner and management team was primarily virtual, but we held regular offline meetings to align on marketing strategies and campaign execution. Commuting between different locations in Bali was another aspect of my internship that required adjustment. I brought my motorcycle from my hometown in Bekasi, which allowed me to travel conveniently between venues. However, Bali also offers various transportation options, including online ride-hailing services and local motorcycle rentals, making it easy to navigate the island.

The Highlight

One of the highlights of my internship was the creative freedom I was given to shape the restaurant’s social media presence. The trust placed in me allowed me to experiment with content strategies, refine my design skills, and implement marketing initiatives that directly contributed to brand visibility. This experience not only strengthened my technical abilities but also boosted my confidence in managing digital marketing campaigns independently.

Benefits of Interning in Bali

I wholeheartedly recommend Bali Internships to anyone considering an internship in Bali. The platform not only provides structured opportunities but also ensures that interns gain valuable skills while enjoying a fulfilling experience. We can learn to communicate well in every situation to everyone. Additionally, they offer short-term volunteer programs, allowing participants to make meaningful contributions while making the most of their time on the island.

For future interns, my advice is to be prepared for both the professional and cultural adjustments that come with living in Bali. Prioritize your health, stay aware of your surroundings, and develop adaptability to involve yourself fully in the experience. With the right mindset and enthusiasm, an internship in Bali can be an incredibly rewarding and transformative journey.
