"You meet so many people, you make so many new connections..."
Hi, I’m Holly! I had the incredible opportunity to intern in Bali for six months through Bali Internships. Coming from England, I was eager to escape the gloomy weather and experience something new. After graduating, I realized my passion lay outside my field, and Bali Internships offered the perfect chance to explore social media and marketing in an exciting environment.
I discovered Bali Internships through my university's graduate scheme. Bali stood out to me for its energy, culture, and sunny weather. I wanted both a challenge and an enriching lifestyle, and interning in social media and marketing seemed ideal. After applying, I chose three potential companies and was fortunate to land a role at a newly established hotel in Berawa. The interview process reassured me that this would be a valuable learning experience.
My Role as a Social Media & Content Creation Intern
As an intern, my daily tasks revolved around managing the hotel's digital presence. Each morning, we held briefings where I outlined my tasks, which included curating Instagram grids, posting stories, creating TikTok content, and responding to online reviews. I also brainstormed creative campaigns, analyzed engagement metrics, and worked closely with the marketing specialist, who provided valuable feedback and guidance. One of the highlights of my internship was the welcoming work environment. My colleagues made me feel at home from day one, offering support and collaboration. Their friendliness eased my transition to life in Bali and contributed to my professional growth. Beyond work, Canggu offered an exciting lifestyle. From beachside cafes to cultural experiences, there was always something happening. The lively atmosphere made it easy to meet new people who became close friends.
Personal Growth & Learning
Interning in Bali wasn’t just about gaining professional skills—it was also a journey of self-development. I improved my marketing skills, adapted to a new cultural environment, and gained confidence in my abilities. At the end of my internship, I received a training certificate, a valuable asset for future career opportunities. Moving to a new country also taught me independence. Navigating flights, securing accommodation, and adjusting to a new lifestyle was overwhelming at first but ultimately rewarding. Bali Internships provided essential support, from regular check-ins to medical assistance when needed.
Interning in Bali came with many benefits. The lower cost of living made it affordable to explore, and the island’s compact size allowed for easy weekend trips. The local people were incredibly friendly, making every interaction warm and welcoming. You meet so many people, you make so many new connections along the way.
One of the biggest adjustments was Bali’s traffic, especially the motorbikes. Coming from Europe, it was a different experience, but within a week, I got used to it. Wearing a helmet and staying cautious made it part of the adventure!
Would I Recommend Bali Internships?
Absolutely! Bali Internships made my transition seamless, providing invaluable support throughout my journey. When I got Bali Belly, they even checked in to ensure I had medical help. Knowing I had a reliable support system made all the difference.
Bali in Three Words
Hot, vibrant, and beautiful. The warm weather, dynamic energy, and stunning landscapes made my internship unforgettable.
Looking back, choosing to intern in Bali was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Instead of staying in England with no clear direction, I gained hands-on experience in a new field while exploring one of the world’s most beautiful destinations. You meet so many people, you make so many connections. It was worth every effort—from preparing flights to finding accommodation—and I would do it all over again!
