Interview with Gita & Khiara
Our Internships Experience as Social Media Interns for Mediterranean Chain Restaurants in Bali
United by a shared passion for learning and adventure, Gita Ferencia, a 20-year-old Indonesian student, and Khiara Fernandez, a 23-year-old from France, found themselves in a prolific Greek restaurant amidst the vibrant landscape of Bali. Guided by their curiosity and a desire to gain valuable professional experience, these two aspiring ladies from different corners of the world participated in the Bali Internships program as social media interns for Mediterranean Chain Restaurants in Bali.
Gita's Perspective
"The most impactful lesson I've learned during my internship is event creation from scratch. From brainstorming concepts to ironing out every detail, the experience was both challenging and rewarding."
I had the privilege of an extraordinary internship experience in Bali, thanks to Bali Internships. Coming from Bangka, Belitung, Indonesia, and studying at Monash University in Malaysia, I ventured to this tropical paradise to pursue my passion for communications and media studies. Little did I know that my 12-week internship at a prestigious Greek Restaurant in Bali would be a life-changing experience. As a digital marketing intern, my responsibilities were diverse, involving platforms like Google Business, TripAdvisor, and even the popular TikTok. Handling reviews, posting updates, and creating captivating content became my daily routine. Additionally, I had the incredible opportunity to contribute to brainstorming ideas for various events.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of my internship was the realization that what I learned in school could be directly applied to real-life situations. The alignment of theory and practice was incredibly gratifying. However, like every job, there were some technical aspects that required prolonged hours of sitting. Still, these challenges were far outweighed by the invaluable knowledge I gained. The most impactful lesson I've learned during my internship is event creation from scratch. From brainstorming concepts to ironing out every detail, the experience was both challenging and rewarding. This newfound skill has reinforced my determination to work in the field of communications and media studies.
Balancing work and travel is undoubtedly a unique perk of my Bali Internships experience. While I diligently fulfilled my internship duties, I seized every opportunity to explore the beauty of Bali in my free time. I visited the magnificent Uluwatu Temple, the breathtaking Bedugul, and even ventured to Ubud to experience the Monkey Forest. There's still so much left to explore, and I can't wait to see more.
Would I recommend Bali Internships? Absolutely! Their friendly and efficient communication made the application process a breeze, and their constant support and guidance throughout my internship have been invaluable. To sum up Bali in three words: My Comfortable Place.
Khiara's Perspective
"Through this internship, I learned the ins and outs of managing an Instagram business account, dissecting statistics, and understanding the art of targeting and creating engagement."
My journey to Bali for an unforgettable internship experience was quite the adventure. I'm a 23-year-old student studying Master 2 Administration and International Trade at Paris-Est Creteil University. My curiosity led me to Bali, where I went on a 12-week internship at this renowned Greek Restaurant in Bali, organized by Bali Internships. Little did I know that this experience would be a transformative one.
Choosing this internship was a no-brainer for me. The allure of a Mediterranean restaurant and the opportunity to apply my skills and knowledge to the company's communications and events were a perfect setting. My typical day as the Restaurant's intern started at 11 a.m. Working with Canva Hotshots, I managed the Instagram business account, creating captivating stories and maintaining an engaging grid. The creative aspect of my job was incredibly stimulating. I thoroughly enjoyed crafting new designs, flyers, and more. There wasn't a moment that I found less enjoyable.
Through this internship, I learned the ins and outs of managing an Instagram business account, dissecting statistics, and understanding the art of targeting and creating engagement. While my future career path is still uncertain, this experience has not been in vain. Bali Internships has been nothing short of exceptional. I've recommended them to my dad's colleague, and their continued support and follow-up have been impeccable from day one.
In three words, Bali is "healthy," "sacred," and literally filled with "dogs." And let's not forget the scooter experience. While it might seem daunting at first, Bali is the perfect place to learn how to navigate the streets on a scooter. My confidence behind the handlebars grew exponentially as I explored the beautiful island, learning to ride with the local flow. A valuable piece of advice for future interns in Bali is to book accommodation for a shorter duration initially, allowing you to explore different areas and find your ideal spot. I learned this the hard way when I realized the ideal location was next to Padang Padang Beach. Flexibility is key. In conclusion, I had such a remarkable and unforgettable internship experience with Bali Internships. Bali truly is a place where work and exploration harmoniously coexist, and I wholeheartedly recommend this unique opportunity to anyone looking to a chance to grow personally and professionally.
