The Bali Internships Meal Philosophy
At Bali Internships, food connects body, mind, and culture. Every meal is an act of respect, for those who eat and for those who prepare. For our participants from around the world, each bite continues their purpose of learning and contributing in Bali. Our meal plans care for everyone, regardless of dietary preference, faith, or wellness goal. Whether you choose a Traditional Home-Style, Vegetarian, Vegan, or Halal plan, each meal is fresh, balanced, and authentic.
All ingredients are locally sourced and cooked by our trusted partners. Vegetables come from nearby farms, tofu and tempeh from local producers, and rice and cassava from the same soil that sustains the communities we work with.
Meals are served from Monday to Friday, prepared each morning and packaged with care. For allergies or health-related needs, personalized adjustments are available at a different cost. Food is everything. It defines mood, energy, and belonging. To eat well is to care for yourself, and to care for yourself is to honor the place that welcomes you.

Traditional Home-Style Meal Plan
A reflection of authentic Indonesian cooking as it is lived daily across the islands. Meals are freshly prepared using rice, noodles, vegetables, and locally sourced proteins such as chicken, fish, tofu, and tempeh. Each dish represents balance and simplicity, the foundation of how Indonesian families eat and live. Designed to provide energy and comfort while introducing participants to the flavors, warmth, and generosity. Food is often the first conversation we have with a new place. We believe that nutrition, culture, and well-being are deeply connected and that the meals we serve should not only sustain the body but also introduce our guests to the rhythm and flavor of Bali, Indonesia.
Our 4-week meal plan was designed to support the health and energy of our volunteers and students during their internship or program stay. Each meal is prepared fresh by our team using locally sourced ingredients: fruits from morning markets, rice and vegetables from nearby farms, and recipes passed down through families.
The goal is simple: to keep you nourished, energized, and connected. Every dish is authentic to Indonesia, balanced, comforting, and full of flavor while also representing the small ecosystems of life that thrive across our island: farmers, fishermen, spice growers, and local cooks.
Each weekday includes three nourishing moments: a morning fruit platter, a lunch box, and a dinner box. Together, they reflect the philosophy that good food supports both wellness and awareness of where your food comes from, who prepares it, and what it represents.
