Collaborative English Teaching Opportunity in Sidoarjo, East Java.

Sidoarjo is a vibrant city located in East Java, Indonesia. Known for its rich cultural heritage and economic significance, Sidoarjo offers a unique blend of traditional charm and modern development. The city is famous for its traditional arts, including dance and music, as well as its delicious culinary delights. Sidoarjo is also recognized for its industrial and commercial activities, making it a hub for business and trade in the region. Its strategic location, close to Surabaya, the capital of East Java, further enhances its appeal as a dynamic and thriving city in Indonesia.

We would like to announce an opportunity for cross-cultural collaboration and English language enrichment for an Islamic boarding school located in Sidoarjo, East Java, Progresif Bumi Sholawat Junior High School. They have reached out to us to try to spread the word as at the moment they are looking for a volunteer to assist and support their English Language program this October 2023.

We hope to assist them in finding the ideal volunteer and hopefully the program will be successful. Please see the details as follows:

School: Progresif Bumi Sholawat Junior High School
Location: Sidoarjo, East Java
Grade: 9th Grade (15 Classes)
Duration: Approximately Two Weeks in October (Flexible Dates)
Class Length: Around 70 Minutes Each Class
Accommodation and Meals: Fully Covered

Purpose:
At Progresif Bumi Sholawat Junior High School, we aim to enhance the English language skills of our students through a collaborative effort with native speakers. We believe that cross-cultural interactions and language exposure are invaluable educational experiences.

Activities:
-Introduction: Students will share personal information, including names, dates of birth, places of birth, and hometowns.
-Indonesian Traditional Foods: Students will present Indonesian traditional foods in groups (3 groups per class).
-A Day with Native Speakers: Engaging English language classes with native speakers.

Additional Highlights:
-Culture Sharing: Native speakers will introduce students to their hometowns and unique cultures, fostering cross-cultural understanding.
-Interactive Games: Fun interactive games involving both native speakers and students will be part of the learning experience.
